Ofentse Mercy Hajane (The Dark So'tho Seer) Poems

Lingering upon my walls,
Motionless.
Heavy clouds of souls mixing with the water below
Cold sense ran through my blood
...

Love eludes me my dear.
I've yet to taste its splendor.
I've yet to thrust hard and long into its mound.
And let its wet facade cascades over its fragrant skin.
...

I am an African child.
How do I know this?
Because I listen to sounds of life long lived.
Do not cite me any parchment of thine god,
...

I gave my name to a snake
Just to discipline of its sake
I never knew what it meant
But for reasons to unbend
...

"I'm afraid to live…"
Cried a woman
"In a world seized under the arms of those who proclaims themselves my superiors.
I am afraid to live,
...

Hark! Behold my welcome, dear one.
These halls did wait for thee.
Thy interest in my affairs is known...
(Please, take a seat.)
...

Verily, my parrot was most wise in his proclamation,
Though I must admit my faith did falter for a moment or two.

Ho, Raphael!
...

Verily, it is a thing of beauty, innit?
A vast wonder beyond the grasp of thy human mind.
Although,
I do not solely place blame upon thee.
...

Hark, who approacheth?

Pray tell,
must I speculate upon the identity of this wingless beast?
...

So! Son of men!
Do join us at our feastly table,
And lo, be filled with the sustenance that we have provided.
I do humbly welcome thee, and do offer a seat on which to recline.
...

Winter hast come,
And winter hast gone.
The blistering cold hast not lingered since then.
Sounds of the demented hast birthed laughter.
...

I see you gather before me...
hungry... terrified... Clutching your babes to your breast.
The rulers of the north has marched their legions into our lands... Laid siege to every fortress from here to the LeSo'tho Mountains…
Rabid and ravenous, they bite and bite away.
...

In yesteryear and wars of days gone,
In the great fall of men,
Demons arose from the loamy soil,
Casting piercing shadows and damning the wretched.
...

When time of penance is nigh,
So does shadows fades in the night.
When devils seeks the light,
All deeds they done of the most high.
...

The morning sun violently stabs the horizon
Colorful blood of light gushed from the sky.
Yellow,
Red,
...

Crazy winds whirls in my head.
My eardrums swollen, big as an olive
Metal clinking and cricking in my mind.
Guitar bursts the hearts of the forbidden.
...

17.

In silent suffering.
The cold tone of piano black stabs my soul.
Injecting darkness in its veins.
The ghosts of those I tortured,
...

Maloba ke dutse majweng ma'tle a lewatle.
Mehopolo ya dithero tsa bophelo baka
ya qhaleha fatshe jwalo ka ona moruo wa lefatshe.
E fata,
...

Come now child
Graveyards are not to be played in about,
Even fairies are fearful of their dark omen,
Suppose it's only right that you should too.
...

You are my abyss,
my shadow,
my darkness.
You are the master of my thoughts,
...

Living Things (Containers Of God)

Lingering upon my walls,
Motionless.
Heavy clouds of souls mixing with the water below
Cold sense ran through my blood
Knowing were they belong
Seems to petrify my glance
Victimizing my eased light soul
Darkening my darkness
Foolishly blinding my heart

My breath went shallow
The surface turned liquid
Drowning in sorrows of those who painfully seeks of souls
Philosophical mind controlling their urge
Faith talks evolutionizing their desire to steal away from those deemed not worthy
Devoid of Love nor Joy
Devoid of Choice nor Will
Devoid of life but life that undertook their mortal containers....! !
