An empty look upon her face
As if she were on distant land.

where people don’t know selfishness, but only how to give.
If only I could stop all wars, see enemies shake hands.
If only I could feed a child that starves in foreign lands.

O hands of time please rest awhile and leave me to my sleep,
To lie within this emptiness to sink into the deep.
O hands of time please wait until I’ve had my chance to dream
To float into infinity before you show your beam.

A home for the elderly that’s what it says,
but what do we see when we go in the place.
A room full of people, yet each one alone
coming to terms with this place they call home.
