Lace curtains through old windows
Are what these dark eyes see
Lace curtains through old windows
Are but prison bars to me

Lace Curtains
Lace curtains through old windows
Are what these dark eyes see
Lace curtains through old windows
Are but prison bars to me
Like a ghost I haunt the wooden stairs
And swing the porch in solitaire
Fearful of the clatter of hardwood floors
As I close the parlor pocket doors
A flower in the attic
A room innocent of lace
I gaze down at the world below
Wearing a desperate face
I wait for him to deliver me
I wait for him to set me free
