Flowers To Pick

Picking flowers, amazed I go
Turns my face to a happy glow.
To farmers they are lots of weeds
For me, they are the brightest seeds.

‘Kill them now, ’ the farmers say
Driving tractors full of spray.
‘Spare my flowers, ’ I implore
‘Let them flourish more & more’.

Many say, ‘You should not pick, ’
But spraying farmers make me sick.
I & others, love those flowers,
Poison sprayers, vive le growers.
(last line substitute for ‘If only we had legal powers’) .
