Life

I awoke that morning with love just in sight.
I knew of the troubles you faced at night.

As we left our home and our joyful dreams.
I was faced with reality of an ill fated scheme.

We made our way to the walls with light.
We both knew it was a perilous fight.

I wasn't frightened or fearful of terrible things.
I knew in my heart you'd become an angel with wings.

Go on to sleep I said with a sigh.
I will miss you deeply this is not goodbye.

As the resting night had came to an end.
I knew I had lost my closest friend.

I now wish to go and leave you with this.
You will always be cherished and so dearly missed.
