A Favourite Deed

As I look around me, at all creation,

My heart and mind, take into contemplation,

How Allah created the sun to rise,

How Allah created animals so wise,

How Allah created humans in races,

With lots of different types of faces.

How the trees sway in the breeze,

How in the winter, we tend to freeze,

How we welcome the sunshine,

How we smile when the weather’s so fine,

How the stars shine from above,

How the flowers symbolise love,

How the crops grow as they should,

How the earth has so much good,

How the orbits of planets is fixed,

How the waters, are never mixed,

Subhanahu, how perfect is He,

The One who created, you and me,

SubhanAllah, how perfect is Allah,

The One who Created each stone, and each star.

I praise Him, throughout each day and night,

I pray He raises us to a lofty height.

Upon all that He did create,

Each day I will find my heart contemplate,

And meditate upon all that is in sight,

And has made me see the true, freeing light,

Al-Khaliq is He, who created us,

Created us from clay and its dust.

Upon His signs lets all take heed,

And make contemplating, a Favourite Deed.
