Dominated, Overrun by power, I have been defeated, So why go on?
The power of depression, Has left me weak, I have been drained, Drained of strength, So let me sleep.
Depression overruns me, I can’t hold on, Inside we all feel lonely, We’ve all been wronged.
The help I’ve received, Failed, I know I should give up, Why keep going, When all hope is lost.
You counsel me, You lecture me, You don’t understand, This destroys me.
Depression overruns me, I can’t hold on, Inside we all feel lonely, We’ve all been wronged.
Give in and just cry, Cry out in the night, Scream until you bleed, Give the world a fright.

Very good poetry, Emily. I read your bio and, in spite of your problems, the winner in you shows through. Keep writing and keep looking up.
God bless you
Ron

Emily, aside from a few vernacular changes...this is commendable work for a 17 year old writer...You have writing skills that are well worth persuing. You appear to have a strong suit in structuring right now...Don't pay any mind to unconstructive comments...Each poem you scribe, each day you write a poem...you will look back not so far down the road & you will marvel at the progress you've made...Be versatile, diversified....Read the work of many of today's Contemporary Poets, moreso, than our Classic Poets......And then adopt your own niche/style....Good Luck, young lady.
