A True Story - Poem by Claudette Frye

I lay down at night with lots of thoughts in my head,
O how I wish my memories would fade away,
Most people keep portraits and valuable things just to remember significant things,
But o how I wish that my memories would fade away,
Some people would say that I’m crazy for thinking this way,
O how I wish my memories would fade away,
Some people would say you/re going to regard that you ever thought that way,
But o how I wish my memories would fade away,
All the thoughts are pain at times I think I’m going insane,
Again I say o how I wish my memories would fade away
