An apostle of Jesus Christ,
Peter writes to all God’s elect,
Exiled and spread in provinces
Of Pontus, Bithynia, Asia,
Cappadocia and Galatia;
Fore-chosen by the Father’s mind
Through Holy Spirit’s work and find;
To be to obedient to Jesus
And sprinkled by His precious blood:
‘Let peace and grace be
Abundantly yours! ’
All Praise to God for Living Hope:
Let praise be unto mighty God
And Father of Jesus Christ, Lord,
Who gave us each a newer birth,
By living hope in Jesus Christ’s
Resurrection from the dead;
An inheritance that cannot perish,
Nor spoil, or fade ev’r in heaven lavish,
Shielded by faith through God’s power
Until Salvation He’ll shower
From the celestial lover
In all these things, you will rejoice,
Although you suffer trials awhile
Which have to come so that your faith
(More than of gold by worth
Which refined by fire
Perishes finally)
Is proved to be a genuine one,
And brings you praise, glory, honor
When Jesus Christ’s revealed!
Although you have not seen Him, you love Him;
Although you do not see Him, yet believe;
And filled with joy inexpressible
For, in the end, you all receive
The salvation of your soul.
The grace to come which prophets spoke,
And searched with intent and great care,
Trying to know the time and situations,
The Holy Spirit seemed to point
When they predicted His great sufferings,
And following glories;
They were aware that they were serving you,
When they spoke of things they told you;
Through gospels preached,
By Holy Spirit from heaven.
Ev’n angels long to look into these things!
Be Holy:
With minds alert, sober,
Hope in grace brought by the Master,
When Jesus Christ comes once again;
Don’t turn a slave to evil desire,
When living in ignorance’s mire;
Be obedient children
For, it is well written:
‘Be holy for,
Holy, I am! ’
Just like the Holy One,
Do holy things under the sun!
Your Father judges your work in ways fair;
Live life like foreigners in constant fear;
For, He redeemed you not with silver, gold,
But by Jesus Christ’s precious blood-
The lamb without defect, blemish;
Who was chosen ‘fore came the world
And for your sake, these days revealed;
Through Him, you do believe in God,
Who raised Him up from dead,
And glorify instead,
So that, your faith and hope remain in Lord!
By following the truth,
You’ve yourselves purified,
And sincere love has sprout;
Love everyone well from your heart;
For, born you are of seed,
That anytime cannot perish,
And getting such nature,
Through living Word of God,
That you endure.
For,
‘All flesh is just like grass;
And glory, just like its flowers;
The grass withers;
And flowers come to pass!
The word of God remains
Forever and ne’er wanes! ’
