Changes

There are changes happening around you and I.
Do you not see it?
Changes in the season.
Changes in the weather.
Changes in day and night.
Changes in hours and minutes.
Changes in you and me.
You change, and I change.
It is for the better or for the worse?
I cannot tell.
Changes can move us apart,
Or push us closer.
I cannot tell.
Changes can make us hate each other,
Or expand our love.
I cannot tell.
Changes happen to you and me.
We all change.
It is for the better or for the worse?
I cannot tell.
Changes are a great uncertainty, indeed.
Change is like entering into a tunnel,
But you have no idea what to expect on the other side.
You change.
And I change.
That is fine, for nature changes too!

Poem of the Day

poet James Whitcomb Riley

There! little girl; don't cry!
They have broken your doll, I know;
And your tea-set blue,
And your play-house, too,
Are things of the long ago;
