Dreams - Poem by Dilantha Gunawardana

Perennial dwelling place
Of the lonesome heart
In the company of solitude
The Utopian design
Of the perfect destination
For Avalon dwells in each heart

For no man is an empty vessel
But a reservoir of belief
In his own inimitable voyage
On unpaved crossroads
Walking towards
unmapped frontiers

For what matters is not
Bonfires of neurons
But footprints of crusaders

For each dream is a challenge
To transcend
The coward within
