Treasure Island

nighttime daydreamer

(02/10/84 / Houston)

this is my diary
i know your
sick of me
im sick of me too
and all of my twisted
magical voodoo
my lanterns burning
with a dark shade
hearts that are wild
arent easily tamed
sometimes forget
just who I am
when Im at my best
I know you cant stand
the sight of me
I do not blame you
go up against me
i just may mame you
ive been a star
since I was born
until the day
my bodys not warm
then a black hole
I shall become
I will devour
the power of the sun

to my discresion
I shall decide
just who will live
or who deserves to die
this I will call
the great afterlife
who are you kidding?
put down that knife
I am immortal
you bring me no pain
I am the king here
your caught in my game
and my games laced tight
like you wouldnt believe
go up against me
walk away in defeat
even in sleep
i follow a pattern
no one can ever
extinguish my lantern
which burns of matter
living of two kinds
beat up the physical
the mental shall shine
into a supernova
my own hyperdrive
you think I was beaten
will Im still alive
yeah Im still the man
whom I have created
with or without you
somehome Ill still make it
these are my stories
of my time on this earth
so go ahead and witness
my constant re-birth
much to your chagrin

Poem of the Day

poet Paul Laurence Dunbar

The mist has left the greening plain,
The dew-drops shine like fairy rain,
The coquette rose awakes again
Her lovely self adorning.

The Wind is hiding in the trees,
