My Broken Heart

My heart was whole,

My heart was gold,

My heart was kind,

My heart was yours

You said you loved me

but it was another lie to shatter

my heart like so many others

before

I thought you changed

but your still the same

Bastard

I left looking

stunned

You never thought I would leave

but I did

And when I did I left with a shattered heart and broken wings

My heart is still broken

and no one

can make it whole

When I left

you had giving me

broken wings,

shattered heart,

and no trust

But some have helped me

get the trust back that you took

But my heart will always be broken not shattered but still broken

Poem of the Day

poet Christina Georgina Rossetti

Go from me, summer friends, and tarry not:
I am no summer friend, but wintry cold,
A silly sheep benighted from the fold,
A sluggard with a thorn-choked garden plot.
