What do you think this poem is about?

Quaternion

Fix belt tip under books on table top
While holding buckle level, step away
Rotate the buckle once; two pi nonstop
A twist results which looping won't unplay.
Restart and rotate buckle four times pi
And now by looping belt round buckle end
The twists are cleared, exhibiting to eye
Zen essence of rotation; comprehend?
Never mind.

October sixteenth, eighteen forty-three,
beside the Royal Canal of Dublin town,
Will Hamilton glimpsed spatial clarity,
as view from fourth dimension looking down.
For multiplying triples, fly one higher,
by summing in a more capacious zone,
‘A circuit closed and spark flashed' to inspire
famed maths graffiti carved in Broome Bridge stone.

Poet's Notes about The Poem

The belt needs to be long and flexible.
If you end up with more twists, then you've looped the belt around the buckle end the wrong way.

2 pi means one complete turn; 4 pi means two complete turns

I had some pi once. It was delicious. Had to unbuckle my belt a notch or two. It was after some prime beef dinner so I did have to turn away from the table for extra room to maneuver. There were drinks also which looped-e-dood me right out of my Zen presence. Oh well, I now have better spacial clarity and dimensional grist. Thanks Diane!

I think I get the gist of it but don't mind if I don't because the storey and journey were a pleasure. Thank you for your poetic efforts to elucidate, enlighten and entertain.

    Octobter 16,1643
    Pirate Girl twisted
    knotted rope 2 pi
    tried to throttle me
    not enough cries
    relooped rope 4 pi
    used small knife sharply hone
    said she loved the poem
so carved PG in my bone.
    P squared G squared = Captain pared.
    You gave her this idea.
Not good at math or pi
but the knife cost left eye.

Ha, maths and buckles, it's all beyond me - think I'll stick with the simple button, less complicated and time-consuming. Very clever write Diane
