Remember Us - Poem by Theresa Quinn
Dedicated to those men and women who have gone on before and to those who serve today.
Memorial Day 2010
It's a day off from work, a day of celebration
Parties, picnics, relaxation.
Games, fireworks, family and friends
Music and laughter til the day ends.
It's also a day to remember
The valiant, the courageous, the bold.
The ones who went before us
Whose story may never be told.
Those precious men and women
Whose lives in service gave
The few who fought for freedom
The strong, faithful and brave.
So take a moment, just one moment
To remember the price that was paid
The ultimate sacrifice given
So that our freedom will never fade
