Sand Castle - Poem by Penny L. Poore

There was a castle in the sand
The children built loveingly by hand
Buckets and shovels they used with pride
Sunny was the afternoon low was the tide
The children worked all day long
As one by one they were called away to go home
Many passers by admired their painstaking work
The details were of quality with sandy dirt
Remarks were made of how well they’d worked together
As the tide rolled in washing away their sand castle forever
