I am but a sacrifice of my forefathers and those before them
Chapters I have scorched out of the earth and left it bleeding
The rawness of my anatomy has compelled my misdeeds

I keep looking but I can't find it. I keep turning my head from side to side and yet I see nothing.

Little did I know that when I let you go I lost the biggest part of my heart. You told me you loved me with your whole heart. How could I not trust you?

There are things between us that were never said
Things we may never get to say to each other
All our thoughts, feelings, gestures and unspoken words are now a part of the universe to dismantle and resolve
Our pains rest in our memories buried deep in our hearts and marked in on our souls

It's quite an unfair advantage that you have on me
The laws that govern your world go against my very nature
Your wavering standards confuse me
Your complex design amazes me

Tiny particles fill my head with bubbles of emptiness,
Like a balloon full of air.
Each particle a galaxy of its own,
Thoughts of generations of a world unknown.

Chapters I have written in my mind.
Love I have lived in my heart.
Happiness I have experienced in this life.
Glory I have received and disappointments I have endured.

At first I thought it was me, but it wasn't. I thought it must have been fate, but it wasn't.
I thought the heavens were smiling at me and dropping blessings of rain onto my shoulders, only to find out it was false hope.
Storms came and i thought you would be my shelter, but i got drenched with rain and caught a cold.
I stumbled and fell, reached out my hand and watched you walk away.

Some things we can never let go…
There are things which go beyond thoughts,
feelings and even beyond the soul.
There are no shelters of comfort for such things,

No matter how hard you try, you can never prepare yourself for heartache
