Depths Unknown Poem by Luvo Mjayezi

Depths Unknown

Some things we can never let go…
There are things which go beyond thoughts,
feelings and even beyond the soul.
There are no shelters of comfort for such things,
Only sorrow and nostalgia,
Pain is but the reopening of wounds that have long healed.
Shadows cast over our heads shading our foresights into a mild darkness,
Dooms of untold wet paths drenched in in deep cries seated in hollow winds.
The wailing of yesterday, whose tomorrow is now in a forgotten past.
This need I have to remember, this need I have to endure its lash.
To discipline myself, so that I do not want, that I never believe but yet hope.
Torment is the deepness of the unforgiving of unwritten iniquities.
It is the heaviness of unburdened shoulders…
Of these are dreams that keep me turning through unending nightmares, as I lay awake walking in the night of daylight.

The un-soothing touch of fingers sauntering down my back;
These chills of emptiness… they are quite harsh to my lonely nature.
