Solace - Poem by Chad Otte

Capture me with your last breath

I've longed to know you my whole life

Simple thoughts whispered engaged my blood

I revel in your countenance

Life shutters at the mere thought of your presence

Water flows through me like a dry river bottom

Hungry words are set in motion

Saplings seek your refuge

The sun vibrates your existence

I alone take solace.
