Stranger to your Light

Are you waiting my love
For all darkness to cease
Your lonely sable world
In the solidarity of suburbia
In the womb of your home

For familiarity mutilates valor
The spring in your step
The wanderlust in your nomadic soul
For the fallen seed will not sprout
In the darkness of maternal shade

No light will germinate
Within your seeds of thought
For your life has surrendered
To the perpetuating shadow
Of your own scrambled genetics
For some men are paupers at birth
Dormant seed eternally relegated to shade

For melancholia
Is like a pitch black curtain
Draped over your window
When the eyes search, in vain
To resurrect hope from her coffin
From these grottoes of ebony

Hold on my love
For our love will lead you
To a sanctuary of ether
Where light obliterates all darkness

So crash in to my world
My patchwork of tinsel and stardust
Let me hold your hand
As your feet grope in the dark
As I gently lead you down
To a miraculous dawn

For love is our inimitable journey
From darkness to light
So pale me with your shade
While you steal my sunshine
As we stroll down this long winding road
To our own oasis of light

So hold me tightly my love
And let me walk you
To your own incandescent horizon
To embrace a new beginning
As you kindle your lantern
With the promise of fire

For the glow of light
Is your fated destiny
Yet your darkness
Is my perpetual addiction
For I always will be
A stranger to your light

For Prozac is a pill
So was your dependency
For loving your darkness, your fragility, was easy
And letting go...........
What can I say
But suicide

Poem of the Day

poet Algernon Charles Swinburne

I hid my heart in a nest of roses,
Out of the sun's way, hidden apart;
In a softer bed than the soft white snow's is,
Under the roses I hid my heart.
