Two doves

Your funeral was yesterday
and I couldn't help but cry
every time I'd miss you
I'd look up into the sky

for a sign that you're OK
and up there above
then I saw the unthinkable
I saw two white doves

the doves are your
guardian angels
to help you in your journey
to the great heavens above

the two doves
were a symbol of her life
and how she always thought of others
even when she was terribly sick

the two doves are purification
that she is all better
and nothing will beat her now
the cancer is gone completely

the two doves brought her away
and out of harms way
brought her high above
so that she can feel everyone's love

as much as we miss her
we have to be strong
for she's with God
and we'll see her before long

so try and not
shed a tear for her
the cancer is all gone
and she's as free as a bird

so think of her
not as the 39 year old with cancer
but as a woman who lived life
to the absolute fullest

the woman who dared
to stand in the crowed bald
and was proud of the fact
that she won many fights

but just one last time
she had to fight it off
but she lost and it wasn't fair
and only God knows why

the two doves he sent
freed her from pain
and so whenever you see two doves
think of her and say

she's watching over me
along with God above
and making sure that
we share the love.

Poem of the Day

poet Dante Gabriel Rossetti

Young Love lies sleeping
In May-time of the year,
Among the lilies,
Lapped in the tender light:
White lambs come grazing,
White doves come building there:
