Understanding Is The Key
All I want to start is for us both to listen,
understand the best we can about each other.
The time we missed,
the things we're finding that make no sense.
Listen intent to find out where
and what our youth to now has brought.
That shaped us gave us our
strengths, weaknesses, and fears,
understand so we can fully know
the best we can why we sometimes act
irrational and various ways as we sometimes do.
I just want to know you through,
your life top to bottom
all you're willing to give for a
connection that will strengthen our unbreakable bond.
I want to understand all the things
that have always confused,
frustrated and haunted me.
Leaving me feeling useless and weak.
for my inability to help you find the relief you seek.
I want to understand,
to give you the happiest life that you deserve.
You've done so much to help
so many others yet next to none
have given you your honors.
I wish to understand so from now until the end
I can always help you work through the pain,
frustration and anger I know you hold
from many years of being under rated and disrespected.
I desperately desire to give you all my secrets,
my pain, my humiliations, and my fears.
Maybe help you understand the rage I hide.
It doesn't make me a dangerous scary guy.
If only you understood,
and when I find the way to explain
why it's so hard for me to truly give up all that trust,
even directly right now to the woman I truly love.
I maybe wrong in all manner
needing some guarantee before
I give you the key to all that's me.
It's only you I'm willing to tell
and share all my life's journey the hope,
extreme despair, shame,
humiliations, and fear,
as well as all my hopes, happiness, joy, and cheer.
I never share those years with anyone,
but for you I'll put down all my defenses
disarm the protective guns.
I want us to understand each other,
always holding on to our love and
special unbreakable bond a wondrous thing,
of pure devotion and strength that has lasted
no matter the times that have been bad.
Please don't hate or resent
me for the wrongs I've done.
I want us to understand the best we can,
all of our moves the good and bad.
So I beg thee please let's find the way
to fully open up our hearts with trust.
Listen knowing that all we share is truth
no fear of cutting words or judgment at each others hands.
I offer now to give you something rare given to only you.
I will share it all
in a show of love and good faith for you.
Try to help you know my roots,
my moves through life,
I want to give it all to you.
I offer this with my heart full of trust.
What say you?
Are you willing to at lest listen to me?
Ask questions and I'll do my best
to help you understand my many odd ways
so hopefully I won't come off as such a slag.
I truly trust you,
you're intelligent I know you can
make much sense of a lot of my chaotic ways
once I've shared my stories of many many days.
You'll find I'm not a total miserable scary threat,
you know I'm truly loving
with only pure passion and need for you.
After I share my lives times,
It's your decision rather or not to share.
Either way I love you still.
I'll be happy to finally let you know my entire tale.
So I let you choose whatever you feel comfortable with there.
You can also decide where you'd
like me to start with many questions
that I can answer about my days,
to cover all there is from my travels about.
through all this very time.
I love you so very much
and I long for us to succeed.
You're my everything,
the first step and key
is true total understanding.
