Untitled - Poem by Erica maples

Once upon a time the beggars
in my life were all around me.

and some-how the crimson
ecstasy wouldn't le me be
who i wanted to be.

but the silver-salvation
came up like the sun
as warm and timid
as my thoughts,

that were making me
love this sliver-salvation
even more than ever.
