Wanted

Love everlasting, for the greater half
To her taste, to her behalf
Silent betrayl, lust in the eyes
Of my first love, though it is not for I

Heart not for I, Heart for him
Her heart belongs to a fountain of sin
She knows not of hurt, hurt of others
She strikes pain into the hearts, even of her own brothers

Her eyes so brilliant, so beautiful to see
Though those eyes look not for me
Taken by sight, not by love
She leaves me for something that seems to be above

I see his painful ways, I see his empty lies
She loves his false and disgusting lies
Anguish, I feel, Betrayed, I've been
She left me for no reason, just for a sin

Poem of the Day

poet Emily Jane Brontë

I am the only being whose doom
No tongue would ask no eye would mourn
I never caused a thought of gloom
A smile of joy since I was born

In secret pleasure - secret tears
