Midnights Voice

(November 3,1950 / Selma, Alabama)

Waters of Love

water cool, fresh
a waterfall
a clear blue pool

then it is steam
white vapor hot
burning everthing

as clouds massing
in the west
thunder clapping across my chest

then rain cold
in my face
which are tears

as brook, steam
rivers or ocean
which water or notion

Is not love
made of such

Yes, Love is beyond all definitions! It can be like drops of water or mighty as an ocean! Great write! ! Your poems assume larger dimensions these days! ! (Report) Reply

Does this portray a similar theme to mine entitled Waterfall? Transformation of a natural event into a human emotion. Good one. (Report) Reply

If you truly love someone you will indeed ride the water cycle of life.water is love in that it is deep, cleansing, washes over, drowning, free flowing, steamy and all the other wonderful imagery you captured! Thanks for the heads up! (Report) Reply

Poem of the Day

poet Paul Laurence Dunbar

The mist has left the greening plain,
The dew-drops shine like fairy rain,
The coquette rose awakes again
Her lovely self adorning.

The Wind is hiding in the trees,
