Muzaffar Warsi

(20 December 1933 - 28 January 2011 / Meerath / India)

Zindagi khinch gayi mujh se tere aabroo ki tarha

Zindagi khinch gayi mujh se tere aabroo ki tarha
apney he khoon ka pyasa hon lab jou_n ki tarha

Woh sitara jo mere naam se mansoob hua
deda-e-shab main ek aakhri aansoo ki tarha

Shola-e-Soz daro'n sard hawa jata hay
koi samjhaye saba ko k chale Loo ki tarha

Koi dewana uthey khaak uraney k liye
aaj bhe dasht hain phailey hue bazuu ki tarha

iss bhare shaher main karta hon hawa se batain
Paao'n parta hay zameen per mera aaho ki tarha

Shabnami haath barhaao k khule darwaza
bin khile phool k zinda'n main hon khoushboo ki tarha

chahatey hain jo Muzaffar gham-e-hasti se faraar
beth jayen jo garha khod k sadho ki tarha

poet Alfred Lord Tennyson

It little profits that an idle king,
By this still hearth, among these barren crags,
Match'd with an aged wife, I mete and dole
Unequal laws unto a savage race,
