Zuruf an meinen Geist


Auf schwingt der Aar sich über dem Schlachtgefild,
Senkt bald herab sein Aug auf die Leichen, bald,
Zerreißend kühn den Wolkenvorhang,
Blickt er hinauf in die goldne Sonne.

So schwing empor dich, Geist, und verweile jetzt
Beim Tode, jetzt durchdringe die Wolke, die
Den Sonnenstrahl der Auferstehung
Fallen nicht läßt in die offnen Gräber!
