Lover's Remorse

She walks the aisle draped in white
Her day has finally come
To slip the ring with such delight
And tie the knot once more

For weeks they lived in happiness
So free and without care
She soon forgot that hollow life
Her days of past despair

But now that storm has come ashore
To cast her doubts once more
A lovers trust is broken now
And rings begin to rust

His vile deed is masked by pride
This life they cannot share
Those days are lost, beyond repair
And vows are cast aside

A heart neglected turns to ash
A poison of the soul
She walks alone now in this hell
Her dreams now laid to rest

Of Love and Loss
Of lives that cross
To innocence and sacrifice
To live to feel the same pain twice
