Who am I,

Beaten and battered,
tortured and released.
I may be free,
but the pain has not ceased.
Still i stand,
a shell of a man.
Broken and forgotten,
do you understand?
This life is not easy,
it is a fight to the end.
The government is watching
not willing to bend.
Ready to strike,
they lay in wait.
