Memories Poem by R.M. Spears

Memories

Rating: 5.0

A fall day has passed,
as Winter now sets in.
A time for holidays and family,
where do i begin.

The warmness of the family,
the joyful memories ensue.
The memories of lost loved ones,
who didn’t make it through.

The turkeys on the table,
watching football on tv.
Giving thanks where it’s due,
and watching the parade with glee.

Presents under the tree,
Mistletoes hanging high.
Echo’s of family laughter,
of past years gone by.

These memories i never had,
my normal is not the same.
Feelings are depressing,
boy i wish that could change.

As the years pass on by,
the love will always remain.
No matter the ill feelings,
of my families disdain.

Memories of the family life, sweet as well as otherwise, are bound to intrude on one's mind especially during holidays or leisue. Nice poem. Enjoyed reading. Thanks for sharing.10+
