Absinthe pt 2: Decadence

Scattered among ashes the withering rose,
Alone on the battlefield, a greying breeze blows,
The theatre of wonder rendered unknown,
And a keeper of keys to a secretive soul,
Falling from rooftops, a cathedral bell sounds,
Chiming a heartache while a poet’s soul drowns,
Piano symphony strikes the wrong notes,
Across the glass waters the frail Gardenia floats,
A fist around heartbreak, a rope around love,
