Stifled

This cold wintry sky, ceaselessly grieving.
Hope surrenders to stillness,
our enchanted moments fleeting.

On that day I stood, captured
by true grace.
Our violet dusk beckoned
as she edges off in space.
But her last delicate rays,
with lingering warmth caressed upon your cheeks,
did light my silent world
with the wildest flames.

Never will a rhythm,
ever lift and carry me so.
Nature's gift and law
thought conquered and provoked.

Leave us then, with the thrill of yesterday's rush
remembered through a rosy blush.
For the singing of yesterday's
trembling heart, lies forgotten
amidst untrodden paths.

Without me, your world has left,
distance calls but I cannot seek.
These songs, will they ever sing for me?
My thoughts sigh as tomorrow's dreams die.
