At an ungodly hour in the early morn
He stood for hours, out in the hot summer sun
teaching me to ride a bike; until that trial I had won

Would it think of Dogwoods high upon a hill?
Or of grandma's daisy's growing under the window sill.

Oh to give thanks for this year we’ve been given
For having a life that’s truly worth livin
To gather as a family the young and the old
In a safe warm house, out of the cold

Come and join along with me
We'll make something for the world to see
Just by taking some simple sand
We'll heat it hot and make it grand

Not to far from the center of town
Artist like elves can be found
Working on their craft, so clever and fast
Just standing there watching is a blast!

The soft glow from a Christmas tree
The one time of year you go on a shopping spree
Large snowflakes fall, like feathers from the sky
Caroler’s singing songs from days gone by

I sit in the glow of the Christmas tree
All alone, no one else but me
The house is quiet, hushed and still
As the cat sleeps on the window sill

There’s something about a Christmas tree
With twinkling lights and bulbs to see
Tinsel flowing, like angles hair
The scent of pine that fills the air

As this year fades into the night
I feel deflated…what is my plight?
This year stars fell from heaven
And those from the Earth back to the Sky
