It's early morning when I start to awake
As the sunlight dances on Sapphire Lake
I take my cup of coffee out to the deck
Watch the fishermen head out their trek

It is late in the afternoon, about 3 O'clock
I must find some shade, it's too hot on the dock
I stretch out on the lounge with a good book
I can't put it down, on the story I'm hooked

On vacation up at the lake, with long time friends
We’ve made so many memories. Turned so many bends
Remember when the kids would ride bikes all day
The dogs would wrestle and just want to play
...

North past the twisted fish frozen in time
Lilac Antiques, for a penny your weight and fortune you'd find
Then to Elk Rapids, with it's waters copper blue
A charming small town, you must wander through
...

Fire worshipers

Will you walk with me while I am alive
Or retrace my steps after I have died
Will you walk the streets of our home town
Stop and smell the flowers, while they're still around

I want to touch the earth
To wrap my arms around its girth
To grasp hold of a mountain
To dance free in a fountain

Floating, fluttering to the ground
Yellow, orange, red, and brown
Spiraling, turning this way and that
Fields scattered with pumpkins, a startled black cat
...

Once in a town called Eagle, on a hot summers day
The sky's opened up and washed the day away
When it was over, there stood high in the sky
A rainbow with all its glory with birds flying by
...

Outside my window stands a tall green pine
It seems to have been there through all of time
Its not what you'd call a beautiful tree
Its branches reach out and hang lazily
