Being chased by an owl

Is a stray dog
Whining with wide eyes
A few cms away from a lorry's wheels
To face unexpected death

Is a newborn snake
Crawling, slithering and hissing
On the broken egg shells
Opening unblinking eyes wide and glancing for the first time

Years ago,
I dug my ground
Placed a plant,
With turfy leaves…

Is a sparrow
With wings flapping slowest
As it nears its nest
Where a snake swallows its eggs.

Is a Mongoose
Killing a serpent
In the house where its tamed
For nearing its master's baby

Trees are also beings
Like human beings
Humans have mouths 5 cms wide
To shout, to cry
