That Moment.. When You Realize

I spend time with another and I think of you.
I compare this new person, to you.
Everyday, I have to remember you don't love me,
I have to live with a thousand emotions,
Every one conflicting with the next.
Every day I cry,
But the crying doesn't help.
The crying makes it worse.
Everyday, it just gets worse.
That's one more day you don't love me.

You may not have meant to hurt me so badly,
But you did. The moment You stopped being in Love with me.
And I'm the one who has to deal with it:
To deal with the hurt
To deal with being unwanted
To deal with your rejection
To deal with myself; alone
To see you with another and wonder
What is it in her that you do not see in me
To be unworthy of your Love is a fate I cannot comprehend

Even now, I do not have you on a pedistal, you are imperfect;
flawed and in progress
I gave my love; even when I did not know if you were deserving
I gave and trusted and nurtured despite many moments of doubt
Yet in the end, you said we were departed
Our promise, no more
So quickly you move on to another; dismissing me as just a page in your book
As my heart shatters my tears fall; still I pray for you, for her, for myself
for happiness to replace our sadness; for Love to replace our loss
To find peace a midst the chaos
To find strength in my defeat
To find confidence despite my feelings of inadequacy

Each day you drift farther away from my view, from my touch
your voice a distant memory; and still I cry
I hold on as a stubborn child to my Love
but I am alone in this sea of people
I whisper the words and feel their truth tearing at me
'I am alone'
