My Morning Alarm

It is five in the morning that my alarm rings each day
I am grateful it is one thing that has never failed me in any way
Days are long but mornings are not, so with ease I pace this usual rut
Dawn has a promise which fills my heart with grace
No fear no negative thought can cross my joyful space
Days move into evenings filled with much of the leftover to do
As I walk back I thank for the home I have to run to
If today is so beautiful I think it is only because
I have never been abandoned or at loss
For my morning alarm that rings each day
I am grateful it is one thing that has never failed me in any way
