I had an empty useless mind
I thought and thought
But inside me

I tried to write a poem by the sea
But the sea was not in me
And the shimmering blue
And distant beauty
...

When I die
Will I cry for myself
As I now cry for others
Who have died?
...

A holiday is not a holiday
Without the children and grandchildren
Friends are friends
And mean so much
...

Dying in old age without desire
Desiring to desire again
Desiring to long again
To live again
...

Sadness comes over me
Sadness at the end of the day
Sadness at the light sinking
Sadness of so many things -ending
...

May all my future sins
Be only sins of thought
May they hurt no one
But myself
...

The Beauty of the morning Silence
Is the light in the Distance
The yellows and greens of the trees
Glistening after the rain
...

I didn't wait for death to come to me
I wrote my poems against the night
I stood where the light is
And laughed at the end of time -
...

Recovery from pain in walking
Joy in life again
And with it the delusion
That it will be as it was before
...
