I am ready for the long journey home
I know I won't be going alone
He will be there to comfort me
And prepare a place, just wait and see

Shadows moving through the darkness
Black is the night for added stress
An eerie glow from the forest beyond
A silky mist rising from a nearby pond
...

A flower falls to the river below
it follows the current moving too slow
over the falls, down to the raging water
the white-capped waves are waiting to slaughter
...

She lives in the darken shadows of an old mill
Out in the middle on nowhere, if you will
There is a secret path that leads to the old home
But you should never walk it at night, alone

Looking out as far as I can see
Glorying in the feelings from within

music softly playing on a night's gentle breeze
the spirits of the past that has been long since gone
comes back to haunt us, chanting a song

Sharon Ashworth Biography

I was born and raised in Oklahoma. Guess that makes me a true Okie. I have always had a creative style. And friends and family will attest that I have a very deep soul. I started writing after a divorce and lost love. It became a form a therapy for me. I was never one to express my feelings verbally but I found I could indeed write them. Some of my poems are funny and maybe a tad bit hokey. But I do have a dark side. And this disturbs some. I have thousands of poems that belay a broad spectrum of emotions. I would love to publish some of them one day. But as long as I have feelings of thought, I will write.)

Going Home

I am ready for the long journey home
I know I won't be going alone
He will be there to comfort me
And prepare a place, just wait and see
I am not afraid any more
I know what I have in store
He has sown me many a time
I keep it handy in my mind
When this world gets me down
All I have to do is look around
And I see Him waiting there
Ready again to show me where
I will be when this life is through
Where I will be, waiting for you
