Letting Go

I wonder what it'll be like, the last minutes
Knowing your leaving so much behind
But not wanting to turn away

I wonder what I'll feel, as thoughts quickly blur away
Will I let fear get in the way?

I wonder what it'll be like, to not be here again
Never feel cold again

Selfish, always wanted her way
Maybe that's what they'll say

I wish I could make them see
The soul hidden beneath the skin
But would they care to know the real me?

I want to live, I want to be free
But something keeps holding me
This is not who I want to be

Life, it never comes easy
You got to fight, you have to break free
What if, that's not meant for me?

I'll try, I'll try to be strong
But deep down, am torn to the bone

I wonder how long I'll hold
To this life, that brings me no hope

Tears, endlessly making their way
As I think back on the brighter days
Now I know, I'll never see you smile again

I wonder, I wish, It'll all go away
But I guess, pain always finds a home to stay
