Sierra Booij Poems

What is love without purpose?
Unity without passion?
Souls living side by side,
Silenced by internal indifference.
...

Bewildering winters day,
disguised in summer’s humid veil
I’m showered in tiny leaves
that dance mischievously in the warm breeze
...

It is forbidden love if it can’t be mine
I’m lost in the vortex of rejection
broken, unlaced by you.
Nighfall now,
...

Where has spring gone?
It has vanished, and taken me with it
I don’t know who I am now,
The prostitute that stands under the glow
...

Where is
where is,

where are the men?
...

Night brings murderous end to love
It reigns its slaughter on innocent hearts
I’m torn between duty and fantasy
And as I writhe beneath the black inked
...

Lighthouse keeper,
Stealing dreams from the sky
The Messiah of my fate
Destroyer of my faith.
...

Blistered orange aching,
it wraps around you;
a tangled mass of hearts and vines,
I suffer like sorrow’s child
...

What Is Love?

What is love without purpose?
Unity without passion?
Souls living side by side,
Silenced by internal indifference.
It is destructive, this irrepressible rage
that breeds in your sorrow.

Don’t cry, I’m here to catch your tears,
and hold them, at least, for a while.

How can a fleeting moment
define a life together
Existing for times sake
A protector of life but
at what cost?

It is unbearable
that you should try to silence my fears
with stony apathy,
destroying this soft, poetic side
with coldness.

Your skin shelters your revulsion
this is true for me
It does not define me, but it unsettles me so.

These words, they come so easy,
I don’t mean to betray your heart.
