Steven Adelman Poems

Younger I smoked pot
sitting in trees
Older I drank wine with the bees
Now I'm dead & gone & got nothing to worry about
...

Paranoia government
kidnap me because of LSD

Paranoia death
...

It is 4: 40 in New York
on a Monday
These 7 days just started
& already my mad mind at work
...

As for the leaves
they have only one fate
They are born to die
Men woman & children...like anything else,
...

They say
that on dying
The great miracle of Heaven is
discovered
...

WRITERS NOTE:

This isn’t a poem
...

Hard to forget unseen Bitterness
first came when I was a child
& learned my name all too well
Tho a child I am no more
...

Moon beams!
pouring out light like streams of crystal
onto black ice cracked streets!
...

Sometimes
troubles
pay themselves back
to you
...

Seven rays escape from the suns of Saturn
scattering sacrificial beats

Little girls running into furnace basement fires
...

Well the books open
the clock comes running in
One white dusty moth wakens; attached to the sidewall
He takes flight across the room unknown to my soft intentions
...

This smile you held
continuously by tickling
my ears with your
sweet language
...

I work at the restaurant
and tie my hands with my shoe laces
there's no need to retrace all the steps
I have taken to find myself standing here washing dishes
...

This house is a quiet house.
The owner, a Cuban, squatting
in the garage- seemingly waiting
to paint with his soaked brush
...

It is midnight
In the loom
Gloom holds one name
That's Steven
...

ONE GOD IS MADNESS
He's got me!
One God is madness
it's meaningless
...

At last writing
last drove Toyota with tired feet
under setting sun
The angels cry as the sun sets into the sea
...

A little loopy on tobaccy
my nose smells funny breath from across the room
Invisible, soon I'll be underground
living in the memories of people on earth
...

Every night
I hear the dogs
howl & lonely locomotives whistlin'
The skies
...
