Said I committed treason

That's the way I've always been

I have dropped ink
Almost every time I think
Filled books to the brim
Most thoughts being quite grim

I see you dance
I see you grimace
You tell jokes at every chance
Even if the chance is the slimmest

Conserve that little thought in your head
Preserve the ideals of a gentleman
Deserve the attention of those you gather
Reserve your judgement

When I hold my lips close to you
I know that you are my dream come true
When I hold your hand in mine
I wonder if this is in the grand design

I have witnessed the greatest act
People changing with their identity intact
Transforming from a worn slack
To all that they used to lack

I would love to stay
But we both know it can't end that way
Time will tear us apart
