Things fall away,
Stripped from the body,
Naked in the grey.

Things happen,
I have no control,
Good things
Make me smile,

Feeling falls away,
Petals in the wind,
Blossom tall and strong
Decays
...

I gave my love away first time
To one I knew
Couldn’t take it,
She charmed me good double quick
...

Holding onto pictures left stranded in my head,
Images of things I had and later found were dead,
Staring at them one by one, a ghost in the scene,
I haunt fading memories, glittering at the seams.

As all this falls down
We take shelter from
Everything we made.

Cephalothorax
Bloated body
Hardened carapace
Final face

Spheres warp onto lines,
Bud, break, amalgamate,
Trickling trails of sparkling clarity,
Winding through a maze,
...

I cannot close my eyes through fear of her name,
Upon thinking it shall emerge and there it will remain
Stapled to the forefront of my mind by iron bolts,
I fear I will never be rid of her, for better or worse,

In layers above the skin,
Then shade it in hues desired
For a face that’s worth a fortune.
