Don'T Believe The Truth Poem by Stuart Doggett

Don'T Believe The Truth

I gave my love away first time
To one I knew
Couldn’t take it,
She charmed me good double quick
With her spell,
Couldn’t break it,
But as sunset fell over foreign lands
So ended,
The relationship.

I don’t mind,
I’ve still got the memories of all those good times.
I’m not crying,
Soon enough I’ll have finished climbing this upside.

I sold my love the second time
To one I thought
Might want it,
She hypnotised me from far away,
It took months
But we made it,
Then she turned round and said to me
“Sorry,
Can't cope with it.”

I don’t mind,
I’ve still got the memories of all those good times.
I’m not crying,
Soon enough I’ll have finished climbing this upside.

I want my love stolen the third time,
Make me
Go crazy,
Set me and my life on fire,
I’ll die happy
And blazing.

I don’t mind,
I’ve still got the memories of all those good times,
I’m not crying,
Soon enough I’ll have finished climbing this upside.

It’s called lying,
Proven by the things that I have come to find,
Deep inside,
There really isn’t anywhere for me to hide.
