Sadness

You back my old friend
I thought you'd never come knocking again
After we departed with no goodbyes
I never turned my head back around to watch you walk away
And now you find me here - alone
At the place where we had our endless conversations
Your touch is still cold, numbing
Your face, still the same, it looks like mine
Your eyes...your eyes
Your never actually left...did you?
I saw those eyes everywhere
On escalators, in traffic, my mirror
Ah...you were always here my friend, watching me

Sit closer, let me breath you in again
Your nostolgic scent
Mmm...how effortlessly we entwine our fingers

My eyes are burning now, I can feel the tears coming

Sleep left once he heard that you back
Guess it's just you and me now
The way you always wanted it

Sitting on my bedroom floor, hugging myself, trying not to fall a part
I look at you and I ask 'did you miss me? '
You smile, no - you grin, a malicious grin
You kneel down and you kiss me

With nothing more said, as we stare at one another
We crawl under the covers
Sadness holds me so tight
It feels as if I don't have any air in me
You have missed me...I can feel it in your intensity
I close my eyes and my mind drifts
I am comforted by the familiar caress
