TANIYA WALTON Poems

Betrayal
Suffering Deep Within
The Pain Absorbed Inside My Skin
...

I Am More Than What You See
 Dark Skin
 Thick Lips
 Kinky Hair
...

Why should I rearrange my life?
To mirror your image of a wife

If I had known you were not satisfied with the way I cooked

Betrayal

Betrayal
Suffering Deep Within
The Pain Absorbed Inside My Skin

The Scars Not Visible To Those Around Me
They Lie Festering In My Mind Destroying My Thoughts
Not Allowing Me To Flee

I Scream From The Agony
The Shame Is To Much To Bare
But Still I Cannot Verbalize My Tragedy

My Ears Will Not Allow Me To Hear My Own Story Told
The Memories Still So Painful
It Chills My Body And Makes My Blood Run Cold

I Wish I Could Drift Away In A Sea Of Forgetfulness
Impunity From Emotions
Lifeless, Hopeless far removed from any possible Bliss

Maybe I’ll Find Peace In Death
