The Victim's blood is shed;
And Jesus now is gone
His people's cause to plead:

No sign to be looked for; the Star's in the sky;

We sing the praise of Him who died,
Of Him who died upon the cross,
The sinner's Hope -- let men deride;
For this we count the world but loss.

But firmly endured as a rock.

The subject is divine;
