As I say my prayers
And lay down in my bed
I still have thoughts of you
running through my head
...

I'll have you know that I've been searching my room
for the love we lost atop of the sheets
between the pages of a bible
forced under the weight of pathetic defeat
...

I'm breaking apart, falling into shards of glass across this floor
dreaming again, waking up to this love that I have since ignored
falling in love with my own darkness, because I'm too scared of the light
but now I can't flee, so I'm running from me, as I'm staring into your eyes
...

if beliefs are wrong
then I need to get mine straight
simplicity knocks
yet we all turn away
...

I'm making a conscience effort, but this bullet has flooded my mind
I could see down this path so clearly, but this fog has now clouded my sight
lift me, oh great spirit, maybe then I can see what is right
on the inside I'm still dying, but on the outside I'm feeling alive
...

my heart plays hopscotch inside my chest
tangled in these words built on unrest
it's a slow ease into madness
when we're glad to embrace the sadness
...

Am I only a shadow
of this former life?
Am I but a whispering dream,
shattered at the morning's light?
...

Something as simple as me hearing your name,
Put words in my head that I can’t explain.
We‘re here, and I’m not really sure,
But I see you are all I need and more.
...

The sound of your voice was music to my ears;
so soft, sweet, and clear...
The kiss from your lips made words I could not explain;
it took away my worries and my pain.

my torpid flesh reveals
that apathetic thrills
are a waste of time and mind
I am overrun
