Virginia Her Poems

I only wish I can tell you how I truly feel
How you are on my mind oh so much
How when you walk by, I don't look
Not because I don't want to
...

Now, I have trouble sleeping
Not because of any substance
But because you are always present in my dreams
Consisting of 'false hopes'
...

If I saw you
I'd want to hold you
But if I held you
I'd have to let go
...

Things have changed
Not the same anymore
Do you still love me?
Even though now I'm not your girl?
...

Today,
I saw that all along
I meant nothing to you
Though I am not sure

Surrender This Battle Part 1

I only wish I can tell you how I truly feel
How you are on my mind oh so much
How when you walk by, I don't look
Not because I don't want to
But because if I do
Not my lips, but my eyes will smile a smile so big
And you'd see right through me

When you say hi, I smile to avoid conversation
Not because you're not interesting
But because I'm afraid my lips will spill my heart out
And tell you all that is hidden deep within me

When you ask me questions or speak to me
I bite my lips with hesitation to reply
Not because I'm shy, stupid, or weird
But because I can't say what I really want to say
That I want you and can't stand the fact I am alone in that feeling

How could this happen?
When we first met you were just another man in this cold,
Unforgiving world
But days went by
And little by little, from time to time
You'd pop into my thoughts
Leaving my head and heart feelings of confusion
Wondering why this man is here
How can I stop this invasion?
And protect what I’ve worked so hard on?
